Project description: ISMX hydrocracking unit produces jet fuel, the process involves a two-stage reaction system with an initial stage of hydrotreating and partially hydrocracking the feed, and a subsequent stage continuing the conversion and product upgrade process in a more favorable environment
This project is developed to increase the current 52 mbpd to 65 mbpd. This requires many equipment/systems such as vacuum column, tempered water cooler, vacuum condensers, pumps, exchangers, topping column, over-head condensers, jet coolers, air coolers and booster compressor.
The main structures required for this project are as follows:
Structure for vacuum column: Steel building 20'x20'x72' height, Exchanger support structure: Steel building 28'x44'x80' height, Steel structure to support 6 fin fans, Compressor maintenance platform steel structure, Cable bridge structure: steel structure 132'x10'x17' height, Exchanger foundations, Pump foundations

Sulfur Recovery Unit Tail Gas Treatment Unit Sour Water Stripper Unit
Project description: Design of the new SRGW unit in El Seguno refinery, California.
The following are the main structures of this project.
E-W main pipe rack: Steel structure 391' long x 30' wide x 30' height with top platforms, designed to support ex-changers weighing 100 kips, three reactors weighing 90kips each, furnace, two exchangers, small vessels and gravity loads between 80 and 210 kips, Two finger pipe racks, to support exchangers and gravity loads between 30 and 70 kips, Sulfur pit 45' x 20' with reinforced concrete walls and base slab and trolley structure supported on two central piers at either sides of the pit, Octagonal shaped reinforced concrete mat to support 118' height vessels.
The main duties developed in this project were the trolley steel structure design and E-W main pipe rack Staad model and foundations design.

Project description: Structural design review of a new paper plant conformed by three main areas. The Production zone consists of a concrete building of 21.500sf area, 65ft height, paper machine foundation, dikes, slab on grade, bridge crane, 11.000sf slabs for equipments and steel structure type trusses for roofs.
Process area: Pulpers building: 16.000sf concrete building, pulpers foundations (dynamic equipment), 3.300sf slab for equipment and steel structure type trusses for roofs. Process tower: concrete building, 147' height, 5 slabs for equipment, steel trusses for roofs. Services building: steel and concrete building, 4.300sf area. Cylindrical concrete tank, 27' diameter, 41' height, bottle shaped. Two concrete tanks for water storage, 32'x16'x10' height.
Area of sewer water treatment: this area is conformed by the following concrete tanks: cylindrical tank, 26' diame-ter, 16' height; air tank, 65'x40'x15' and 3 tanks 32'x32'x11'. Additionally, concrete building, 32'x32'x64' height for equipment.
Complementary structures such as 3 electrical control rooms, retaining walls, equipment foundations, 948' pipe rack, laboratories, etc.
Activities: structural design review and approval of the structures above described. Loads, structural criteria, ma-thematical models review and reinforcement of every structural component –beams, piles, columns, etc.- Drawings review was included.
