10 years experience in design and construction projects for the Oil and Gas and Pharmaceutical industries in disciplines of project management, Offshore Construction planning, execution and control, Estimation and Pricing, Field Engineering and Design support for Submarine Pipelines, Umbilicals and subsea facilities.

My current assignment is as Subsea Project Engineer for Nexus Energy (owner / operator) on the Longtom Offshore Gas Development Project. I have been involved with the project from FEED to installation and pre-commissioning works including mobilisation of DP2 offshore spread for umbilical lay, diving, ROV works and pre-commissioning.

My responsibility included the role of offshore Company representative on the DP2 DSV Maersk Responder for umbilical lay, pipeline tie-in works, electro-hydraulic hook-up and testing of subsea facilities, pre-commissioning of pipeline and trenching umbilical.

In my previous 7 years experience, I worked for Parsons, Jacobs Engineering, ProsCon and Project Management Ltd as a project engineer, mechanical engineer and commissioning engineer mainly in the pharmaceutical industry.

Throughout my career I have gained a strong engineering and execution, contractual, cost control, procurement and scheduling background through working on a wide range of fast track projects in the oil and gas and pharmaceutical industries.

SUBSEA PROJECT ENGINEER LONGTOM OFFSHORE GAS DEVELOPMENT, BASS STRAIT
PROJECT SUMMARY
The Longtom gas field is being developed by Nexus Energy to supply gas into the Eastern Gas Pipeline (EGP) after processing at Santos Patricia Baleen (PB) Gas Plant. The Longtom field is located in the Bass Strait is being developed with two horizontal sub-sea wells. Produced gas will flow to shore via a 17.2 km high pressure pipeline tied back Patricia Baleen gas pipeline and then to Patricia-Baleen gas plant. The 21km Longtom electro-hydraulic control umbilical will deliver power, chemicals and control to the Longtom subsea trees and HIPPS. The project also includes other subsea facilities such as PLEM, SCU, UTA, spools, valve assemblies and hydraulic flying leads.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Design (DD)
Nexus Project Engineer responsible for following:
* Umbilical contract (DUCO) including but not limited to: bid evaluation, procurement, manufacturing, testing of electro-hydraulic umbilical. Spent 6 weeks in DUCO premises (Newcastle, UK) as client representative for umbilical termination, testing and load-out activities
* Subsea valve contract (BEL Valves) including but not limited to: bid evaluation, procurement, manufacturing and testing. Consists of high pressure large bore and small bore ball and split gate ROV / gearbox operated valves. Client representative based in BEL Valves, Newcastle co-ordinating team of Nexus QA/QC personnel for assembly and testing of valves
* Flowline contract (NKT) including but not limited to: bid evaluation, procurement, manufacturing and testing. Managed two on site representatives to successful completion and delivery of flexible pipe.
* Umbilical Sub-sea Connector contract (Unitech Offshore) including but not limited to: bid evaluation, procurement, manufacturing and testing of planned ROV Charlie plate subsea connector. Connector required due to length of umbilical sections / weight / reel size restrictions
* Gooseneck and diverless Optima connector (Vector International) including but not limited to: bid evaluation, procurement, manufacturing and testing of ISO 13628-8 Class 5 6" Optima connector for tie-in connection from Christmas tree togas export pipeline.
* Review and approval of FEED and DD deliverables from detailed design contractor (WorleyParsons) including but not limited to: BOD, field layouts, equipment specifications, P+ID's, ITT packages, pre-commissioning philosophies
* Review and approval of Offshore Installation Procedures for umbilical ay, pre-commissioning, coating, WROV procedures, flexible installation
* Umbilical and subsea equipment (Cameron) interfaces
* Other minor orders included MEG, hydraulic oil, anodes, cable protection systems
* Overall commercial management of above contracts including development of contract, evaluating contract variations and approval of vendor payments.
* Assist Nexus OIM resolving technical and commercial queries with installation contractor
* Assist Nexus Lead Subsea Engineer closing out technical queries associated with subsea equipment vendor (Cameron)
* Participate in project HAZID's, JHA's, HAZOPS, Risk Assessments and constructability reviews
* JP Kenny interface for validation of Longtom design and installation deliverables (Consent to construct)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – INSTALLATION
* Review and approved installation procedures.
* Validation and marine warranty co-ordination of reviews
* Management and supervision of Offshore Installation contractor as Company representative for installation of umbilicals, EFL's, HFL's, hook-up and function testing
* Offshore client representative for installation of flexible and pipeline tie-in spools
* Offshore client representative for pipeline pressure test, system leak test and dewatering
* Offshore client representative for trenching and stabilisation of Electro-Hydraulic control system

JUNE 2006 – FEB 2007 PARSONS
PROCESS PROJECT ENGINEER CLIENT: CONVATEC, WALES - USD $50m
* Submitting FEED deliverables, (Basis of Estimate, Basis of Design, Capital cost estimate (accuracy +/-10%), utility and process estimate process and instrumentation diagrams, utility sizing calculations.
