Provide senior leadership to the corporation as a Section 16 officer of Forestar Group, Inc. (NYSE- FOR) Lead a stand alone business engaged in the exploitation, exploration and production of oil and natural gas primarily in the East Texas and Gulf Coast Basins of Texas and Louisiana, and on company owned lands in Alabama and Georgia. Establish an operations office, hire staff, evaluate and assess assets, develop a strategy and business plan to generate immediate revenues and create long them value. Supervise and participate in all in-house duties including deal negotiation, drafting and closing. Direct 12 In-house and 100+ field Landmen in lease purchase, title curative, and surface damage settlement. Coordinate land department efforts throughout the Western Division with emphasis on the Barnett Shale Resource Play. Oversee land administration and lease records. Drive exploration and production efforts within the Division drilling 200+ wells with a capital budget of $260 million.
