* Participated in numerous property sales of company's ownership in both U. S. domestic and offshore leases. Reviewed accounting language and attached exhibits in draft purchase and sale agreements for comment to Land, Legal and Operations Management groups. Prepared Preliminary and Final Accounting Settlement Statements for cash distribution between Buyer and Seller with subsequent audit, reconciliation and adjustment of balance sheet transactions affected by same.
* Coordinated Company's accounting response to various private and governmental royalty owner valuation/audit exceptions with significant liability exposure. Prepared accounting documentation and analysis for submission to both Company legal staff as well as outside counsel. Resulted in no follow-up by two major private royalty owners' counsel and a compromise settlement at a substantially reduced amount to the federal government.
