Contracted to ExxonMobil Nigeria as Valve Shop Maintenance operations Supervisor / Advisor and Subject Mater Expert

Duties
Supervision and training of one expatriate foreman and twenty two national technicians in testing, overhauling repairing and certifying of all types of valves including PSV's, Ball, Gate, Flow& Level Control, ESD's, Check etc. This includes all valves critical to oil and gas field operations, covering over one hundred and twenty platforms and structures, a large oil terminal/tank farm and a LPG plant.
I am also in control of all documentation including valve certification after testing, this includes over three thousand PSVs
Using IPES ( SAPS ) system to do material and equipment searches, tracking of notifications and closing of work orders including inspection lots of PSVs.
Running a five year training program for valve technicians.

Dec 95-Oct 96: Kvaerner Oil & Gas Services, Dyce,Aberdeen Agip UK Ltd on Tiffany Platform
Overhaul and maintenance on Nuovo Pignone Gas Compressors & Turbines, Rolls Royce RB-211 Power Generators, Water Injection, Oil Export, Service Water Pumps, Sulphate Removal Packages, Frank Mohn Firewater Pumps, Caterpiller Diesel Emergency Generator, Atlas Copco Air Compressors and Driers, Glycol and Methanol Systems, Reverse Osmosis Water Makers. All types of valves.

April 95-Dec 95: Heerama FSS Group and Grootcon UK Ltd/ Douglas and Judy/Joanne Hook-Ups.
Construction and Commissioning including: Installation and Alignment on Nuovo Pignone Gas Compressors and Turbine Skids, Service Water, Oil Booster and Oil Medium Pumps Installation of Temporary Generation and Compressor Equipment. Lifting of Risers by use of Gipson Strand Jacks and the installation and Commissioning of all P.S.V.'s.

Aug 91 – Feb 95: Kvaerner (A.M.O.D) Dyce Aberdeen Phillips Petroleum on Maureen Platform
A member of a dedicated maintenance team employed as a Mechanical Technician covering full platform, working on own initiative and motivation on European Gas Turbines, TB5000 Dressers Rand reciprocating gas compressors, various kind of Centrifugal pumps, wellhead Christmas Trees, diesel powered generators, vacuum type water makers. Work also included change out and testing large heat exchanger bundles, glycol and method systems, removal, overhaul and replacement of all sizes of TK, actuator operated globe valves and replacement of ESDV's and certified overhauling and testing of all P.S.V.s (.All P.S.V.s were certified after testing). I was also a member of the platform Fire Team.

Oct 86 – Aug 91: Kvaerner (A.M.O.D) Dyce, Aberdeen Shell on Brent Alpha Platform
A member of a dedicated maintenance team employed as a Mechanical Technician covering gas compression, water injection, power generation and general maintenance. On Dresser Rand recip and rotary compressors, Avon power generation units, vacuum type water makers and associated boilers, water injection, all types of valves service water, fire, oil booster, and several other types of pumps and was responsible for the repair and maintenance of the platform HVAC system.

April 85 – Oct 86: Wood Group O.P.M Tullos, Aberdeen Shell on Alpha Platform
Employed as a Shell Relief Maintenance Technician involved mainly in gas compression. Working on Dresser Rand recip and rotary compressors, All types of valves, Tee system coolers etc.
While I was working on the platform I was a member of the fire team.
Remained on Brent Alpha at end of contract to take up above position.

1975-1985:National Coal Board, Horden Colliery Peterlee,
Co Durham
Employed as a Mechanical Technician covering all aspects of maintenance including work on Bellis & Morcom AR compressors, Aerex Ventilation fans, Wilcox Boilers, Various types of hydraulically operated machinery ranging from 10 to 125 HP, Mackly 8 stage centrifugal pumps together with several other types of pumps and valves Also worked on workshop equipment i.e. lathes, slatters, plumbers, millers etc.

1974 – 1975: Benline Steamers (WJ Thompson & co) Edinburgh
Initially started as an 8th Engineer and progressed to 5th Engineer. Duties included maintenance and watch duties.
