PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
SCHLUMBERGER- Calgary, Alberta September 2008 to Present
Geologist
Hired full time as a geologist to work on Unconventional Gas in the field and office.
Field responsibilities include picking core points from offset logs, communicate with Core Hands and drillers, described and logged core on site, select and collect samples for desorption and core analysis. Generate graphs from collected desorption data to calculate gas loss and gas in place volumes.
* Familiarized with rig operations; developed good comprehension of rig operations by frequent exposure of field work; understand procedures and responsibilities of various rig crews.
* Exposed to developments in NE B.C; described and Logged core, collected and analyzed desorption data of key formations including Horn River, Montney and Exshaw.
* Worked in high pressure and fast pace environment; effectively determined and modified core intervals as required to optimize core recovery in zones of interest.
* Calculated total gas volume from combined products of derived desorption data, bulk density, residual analysis, and TOC analysis.
* Completed intensive six weeks training; acquired new skills in borehole geology interpretation using Geoframe and Petrel software; expanded on geomechanical theories and relative potential oil and gas applications.
CONOCOPHILLIPS – Calgary, Alberta May 2007 to Sep 2007
Geologist
Selected to serve in summer contract position as a geologist for one of the world's largest energy companies.
Studied 9 townships with 250 wells in Edson region, correlating core logs to digital well logs and deriving relationships to production. Developed structure maps to define discontinuity and faulting in the region. Generated and interpreted cross sections of the region, demonstrating the effects of faulting and regional trends. Worked with team to create Isopach and Phi-h maps according to pool pressures and improved models of depositional environments and sequences.
* Improved upon existing data of the region; rigorously created, collected, and organized data, resulting in increased and improved information which will allow the company to operate more effectively and efficiently.
* Further developed company models; developed two models for the team, and significantly improved upon model of depositional environments and sequences.
* Presented results and data from projects to chief geologists and scientists; developed and presented two formal, professional presentations based on models, mapping, and well logs to management teams.
* Received very positive review from manager; recognized for problem solving skills, performance on very difficult project, communication and teamwork skills, and ability to work independently with little supervision.
