Current Assignment: Seconded to Shell Exploration, Dubai, since April 2004 and working at Soroosh and Nowrooz offshore fields as In charge for vessel repairs Welding / Vessel Engineer
Task Repair of corroded Pressure Vessels (Claded) and Piping system on offshore platform and make them suitable for safe operation.
Role "Plan, organise, execute and monitor the repair activities of corroded pressure vessels and Heat Exchangers (more than 30 Equipment) on offshore production platform and re certification of vessels as per ASME "R "and API 510 requirements. Reporting directly to Project management team.
Functions
* Review of Repair Management Manual and ensure the welding repairs are in compliance with the requirements of the manual.
* Attends to and resolves contractor's Metallurgical & welding related queries and provides technical guidance and expertise.
* Review and approves all related technical documents like Quality Plans, Welding Procedures etc, and ensuring compliance with Project specifications, ASME code and standards.
* Lead the team of Inspectors and monitor the job performed by contractor and report the management on the progress and status of the job
* Assist commissioning, hook-up and HSE to ensure alignment of project requirements and goals.
* Interfacing with the end user NIOC for all technical clarifications.

Previous experience
1998 – 04 Bureau Veritas, India (worked for 6 years)
Position Head of Industry, Oil and Gas Division. Reporting to the Country Manager, with direct responsibility for offering the solutions to the technical problems in the field of Welding, Fabrication, Inspection, Materials selection and Corrosion for various Oil and Gas Industry projects. Additional Responsibility of conducting the Third party Surveillance Audits at suppliers/manufacturers for compliance to QMS and ASME "U "Stamp requirements.

Offshore:
I) Project Ravva Satellite Gas Development Project & Lakshmi Field Phase 1 Development Project
Role: Lead Inspection Engineer representing client Cairn Energy Pty ltd. Involved in the construction and inspection of platform, Pipe lying, Beach pull, Hook up operations at offshore. At onshore inspected the various coating Inspection viz Coal tar epoxy, Concrete weight coating, Neoprene coating etc for 6", 8" and 10" pipelines.
Onshore:
II) Project Dorood Project Onshore Facilities and New Plant-Kharg Island, Iran
Role Worked for the supplier Petrofac International as the Principal Inspection engineer and inspected the entire steam generation package. Inspection package includes the 3 X 250 TPH capacity steam boilers manufactured as per BS 2790, by Thermax, India. Qualified and approved all the required welding procedures and welders as per BS EN 287 and 288.

III) Project SHELL Hazira LNG Terminal
Role Representing the client, SHELL, as the Lead Inspection Engineer / Welding Engineer, qualified 33 Welding Procedures and 100 performance qualification tests using 9% Ni steels, Aluminium and HSLA steels. Involved and lead the team of Inspection Engineers in the construction of 2 numbers LNG tanks having 82M Dia X 41M height (constructed as per API 620 and BS 7777) and plant piping.

IV) Project Gas Authority of India Ltd, DVPL cross-country Pipeline project
Role Represented client GAIL as the Welding and trouble-shooting Engineer. Performed the root cause analysis for the welding defects and presented a report to the client with remedial measures. Also Involved in the Inspection of 1499KM long 42" Dia cross country Pipeline Inspection, constructed by Punj Lloyd.

V) Project Enron's Dabhol Power project Phase II
Role Representing contractor Bechtel, USA, as the Third party Inspection Engineer. Involved in the Inspection of water treatment plant- equipment & piping and Instrument air Plant.

1996 – 98 BHPV Limited, Vizag. A major heavy fabrication industry serving to Oil and Gas industries in the fabrication of Pressure vessels, Boilers, Heat Exchangers etc, worked for 2.5 years

Position Welding Engineer.
Role Reporting to the QA/QC Manager. Responsible for preparation, establishing and implementation of Welding and QA/QC Procedures and assist in trouble shooting activities. Providing welding discipline expertise during procurement and construction of various equipments used in the oil and gas Industries. Qualified Welding procedures and welders using C steels, C-Mn steels, Low alloy & High Alloy steels including Duplex, Super austenitic and ferritic steels, Non ferrous materials like Al, Ni, Cu and Ti alloys.
Major projects involved in are IOCL Panipat refinery expansion, HPCL, DHDS project etc.
