Responsibilities:
- Supervise Completion & Workover Operations such as Well Testing, Well Stimulations (Acidizing, Fracs, Coiled Tubing), Gas Lift, Submersible Pumps, Perforating, Electric Wireline Operations, Slicklining, Snubbing, Drilling and any operation necessary to the successful completion of the job.
- Assisting in the preparation and evaluation of tenders.
- Tracking and analyzing performance and costs.
- Recommending and implementing changes in some aspects of the completion/work-over programs to improve drilling and completion methods, techniques, safety and efficiency.
- Reporting all daily activities to oil company headquarters via electronic reporting (ie. Wellview, wellman, DIMS etc).

- Being responsible for the safety and well being of all contract personnel on location at all times.
- High profile completions: sour, sour critical, high pressure gas (3500- 12000 psi), deep (3000- 6000m) and wells in extremely remote regions.

Looked after the Horn River shale gas completions & Norman Wells complex shallow oil well workovers.
-15 years as a Supervisor working for large and small oil & gas companies such as: ESSO, Suncor Energy, Husky Energy, Encal Petroleum (now Calpine Oil & Gas), Fairborne Energy, Shiningbank Energy, Petro-Canada, Highpine Oil & Gas Ltd., Ulster Petroleum (now Devon Canada Corp.) and several small companies.
-The majority of my time was spent on deep (3500- 5500m), sour, high pressure gas and flowing oil wells. Most of the wells are located in remote areas, up and down the Canadian Rocky Mountains. These wells typically involve very complex production strings with multiple packers, sliding sleeves, profile nipples, sub surface safety valves, production tubing sizes, etc. The majority of these wells are completed or worked over without killing or damaging the formations. Snubbing and the use of coiled tubing to set multiple packers is common. These types of wells take extensive planning, safety and attention to details to execute in an effective yet efficient manner.
-I have accomplished these types of operations with an impeccable safety record regarding the crews, equipment and the environment. I believe that all safe work procedures must be followed under all circumstances. Safety meetings must be held and documented, JSAs, Hazard Assessments, ERPs, PPE policies and all other safety related standards are all equally important and must be used for a safe worksite to remain. The safe work environment must start at the top and the supervisor must lead by example with continual education for the crews.
-I was the wellsite supervisor on a remote well blowout in northern Alberta, Canada, in which the location was only accessible by air. It took 43 men on location every day for 31 days to kill the well. The well was flowing +/- 22mmcf/day out the surface casing vent and was +/- 29% H2S. After 31 days and 3 kill attempts, the well was killed without a single safety incident. There were 5 helicopters in the air at all times bringing in men and equipment, which created a logistics challenge requiring continual monitoring and improvement. After flying in a coiled tubing unit, in 21000lbs pieces and re-assembling it, the well was killed with 2200 kg/m3 water based mud. The well was then left until winter when a double service rig and rig assist snubbing unit were brought in, and the well was permanently abandoned.
-I was the wellsite supervisor on a 5300 m, 88% H2S, 6% CO2 workover with 4000 psi on the wellhead. We changed out 3 packers and accomplished this without killing the well and without jeopardizing the safety of the men or the environment. This was done in a populated region of the foothills west of Pincher Creek, Alberta.
-I have worked on many other technically critical and difficult projects that can be discussed in person, at a later date.
-I have experience in a number of other areas of our industry as a crew member, prior to working as a wellsite supervisor and I have attended NAIT, taking Petroleum Engineering Technology (2 years).
