I worked in South Africa as Lead Cost Engineer, engineering office then, I moved to a construction site for the Rustenburg Base Metal Refinery, to increase Nickel capacity from 21,000 tonne per annum to 33,000 tonne per annum. To perform cost control functions for the project. I am responsible for work breakdown structure (WBS), allocating budgets at appropriate levels as per project coding structure. Develop an implementation of project base line budget. Review of contracts and purchase orders for budget and cost implications, preparation of regular cost reports and record keeping, cash flow management forecasts, budget reallocations, transfer of funds, estimation of the design and scope change requests by examining cost trends, project change notices, forecasting the cost of the remaining work. These include detailed project manpower (staffing report). Responsible for all contract packages for review and corrective action for estimated final costs and other project management functions that are related to the project. Comparison of actual cost to date vs. Planned progress.

Coordination with site contract administrators and quantity surveyors (all discipline) for all extra works and compensation events. Review all contractor progress payments. Work closely with all managers, client's project manager and team leads. I worked with three African Cost Engineers and two clericals.
