Implemented and continuously improved the maintenance planning department of a 120,00 tpd copper concentrator. Develop procedures for the planning and maintenance departments to follow. Helped implement a maintenance philosophy centering on reliability and preventative maintenance practices. Also lead teams that reviewed and revised our materials delivery program, quantity and quality of material we carry in our warehouse, and implemented SAP maintenance management system.

Ensured equipment repairs, hours, and tons were entered into MIMS system to help schedule work before breakdowns occurred and track improvements. Implemented a more predictive maintenance system using vibration analysis and failure analysis. Set up and monitored maintenance budget. Tracked mill liner wear and implemented design changes to increase liner life. Helped troubleshoot production problems and involved operators in plant design improvements and prioritizing of work.

Developed schedules with Flour planners that incorporated operation’s needs and moved from a breakdown mode to a scheduled mode. Restocked warehouse with parts and supplies that were needed and removed obsolete items. Worked with operations, GIW and Warman pump vendors to maximize pump life with liner designs and operating strategies.
