  1. 2. Tamilnadu Water Investment Company Limited ::: Planning Engineer, from May 2006 to Dec 2009 

Company          : Joint venture between Government of Tamilnadu and ILFS Limited. Specialized in Project Management / Construction Management in the field of Industrial Waste Treatment

Project  : Tirupur Textile Effluent Management Project Tirupur City of Tamilnadu – 52 MLD capacities. It is Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) project. Collection of raw textile effluent (53 MLD) from 230 dyeing / bleaching units spread over in and around Tirupur City of Tamilnadu, treatment through Biological treatment systems, Reverse Osmosis plant & Evaporation plant and send back the treated pure water to the 230 units for re use. This is the first such kind project in the world is being executed in this way. The major structures in the project were Pre-treatment plants, Water storage tank, RO plants, Evaporator plants, Cross country pipeline systems, Clarifier, Pumping stations, etc.,

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Worked as Master Planner for this critical project. Taking care of the entire project planning and project control function including contractor payment management since inception till commissioning and hand over to Customer.
  • Involved in the Tender evaluation process and contracting process. Main contractors were, TATA Projects Limited, IVRCL Limited, Metax Corporation, Singapore, etc.
  • Preparation of cost estimates for additional works, rate analysis for various additional works. Made claim statements in reference to the contract during execution of the project.
  • Developed 36 no of project detailed schedules in MS Project, Primavera incorporating Contractor schedules for the entire project. Various levels of schedules (Level 1 to Level 4) prepared.
  • Worked as a contract engineer later part of the project execution. Developed various processes and database for administer the contracts. Administer the contract for all the major contracts along with their plan, execution, billing, payment and Contract closure. Handling of Arbitration with the Contractors on behalf of Customer
  • Developed the art of efficient Contractor Bill Management system. Held responsible for quantity surveying and payment certification and payment release to all contractors from Customer / lender.

  • Worked as Mechanical Engineer for the Project Execution of Fabrication, Blasting and Erection.
  • Worked as Planning Assistant in the project execution. Involved in project progress update, reporting, monitoring, and arriving at fabrication and erection schedules in line with the overall Project schedules.
