- Fully in charge at site (Johor Port) and reported directly to Construction Manager / Project Manager
- Played dual roles –
i) Set up various management systems to oversee operations in work site at Johor Port
ii) Led production team for semi-submersible repair/conversion works
- Time-keeping/Security – Implemented clocking in/out system for all workers on the project and established gate entry/exit system to monitor movement in and out of the yard
- Safety Management System – Established permit-to-work system, fire-fighting faculties and bridged emergency response procedures between Port and rig

- Main challenge was to galvanize a jaded project team to expedite works and resolve site issues quickly

v 2005, Dec – Project Superintendant (Seadrill’s West Atlas)
- Managed and directed a team of newly employed supervisors most of whom had no prior experience in rig building
- Chaired Vessel Safety Coordination Committee (VSCC) meetings daily with sub-contractors to prioritize and coordinate works
- Served as primary focal point in production bridging between management, engineering, purchasing, quality assurance and commissioning departments
- Planned and oversaw heavy lifts activities during rig blocks integration/construction phase
- Overcame steep learning curve to lead an entirely new team with limited experience facing uncertain work procedures and requirement
- Acquired insight into intricacies of site installations procedures/problems overlooked by engineering
- Gained competency in resolving site interference and engineering problems
- Captured works outside of contract specifications as variation/change orders

- Worked closely with Cutting Plan Department, Steel Workshop and sub-contractors to ensure steady flow of steel panels which were slowing down blocks assembly
- Responsible for planning of mechanical installation works during the hull integration – delivery requirement of equipment to coincide with different stage of structural integration
