POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Career Development Department is responsible for the succession and career planning initiative. The current workload has expanded dramatically and is expected to serve all Saudi Aramco organizations. The candidate will be a key implementer of the succession planning for all grade code 11-14 jobs and career planning for all grade codes 11-17 employees. The first part has already been implemented in 2008. We are looking for competent and experienced staff with the right characteristics to be able to discuss and convince management of matters related to HRD.
1) Evaluates data relevant to position profiles, career ladders, and Chief positions from the AA Coordinators for entry into the system, and ongoing updates. 2) Conducts initial meetings with AA Coordinator, designated AA support staff and Management to introduce the concepts and process of Succession and Career Planning, gain support, and to agree on the AA implementation process. 3) Establishes contact with business lines requesting the designation of the AA Coordinators. 4) Provides corporate system support for SAP Succession and Career Planning screens/process and is main point of contact for SAP Succession and Career Planning system issues. 5) Provide orientations to BL Talent Coordinator / AA Coordinators and Management communicating Succession and Career Planning concept and process. 6) Administers the entry of approved position profiles and any career-related information for timely use by Admin Areas in the Succession and Career Planning process. 7) Provides consulting services to all decision makers/users. 8) Provides corporate system support for SAP Succession and Career Planning screens / process and is main point of contact for SAP Succession and Career Planning system issues. 9) Maintains the Corporate Qualification Catalog. 10) Focal point of contact for all Succession & Career Planning Department representatives with regards to succession and career planning matters. 11) Focal person in all quality assurance related to process and systems matters. 12) Develops an integrated Succession and Career Planning Process for the targeted organization. 13) Incorporates, with the help of Leadership Center personnel, a Succession and Career Planning segment to be delivered in Saudi Aramco supervisor training. 14) Communicates Succession and Career Planning concept, process, and system demonstrations to line organizations, and continuously updates them on changes. 15) Maintains regular communication with other initiatives contributing to Succession and Career planning results (including PMP, TEM, SPA, MDD, LDD, SAC, and Manpower/Corporate Planning) with the purpose of continuous communication, reflection, alignment, and improvement. 16) Maintains communication and participates in meetings (including review meetings) coordinated by AA Coordinator / Dept Representatives 17) Administers the development and delivery of an educational CBT for use in orientations (computer-based training in the form of an online Web page or CD-ROM). 18) Liaises with SAPHR to ensure the smooth functioning of the Succession and Career Planning screens, to make any approved system enhancements, adjustments, and customizations. 19) Ensures decisions resulting from the process are followed up to reflect changes, such as promotions and development. 20) Follows-up, gathers feedback and suggestions from users, and continues to monitor the process to ensure fairness and integrity. 21) Provides interpretations of Succession and Career Planning results for use in post-rollout progress/status reporting.
SELECTION CRITERIA: The employee needs to be self motivated as they will have a lot of autonomy to lead and implement the technical competency program in their assigned admin areas following specified guidelines. The candidate should have: Wide Experience in fields of the HRD function, from conducting training needs analysis to the execution plans. Skills set such as Consultancy, Managing meetings, Assertiveness, Communication, Presentation and interpersonal Experience in training work colleagues and internal customers. Project management skills to coordinate and schedule a new roll outs effectively and efficiently. Familiar with change management techniques needed to successfully roll out a program of this nature.
Education: Bachelor's Degree with courses in education, counseling, human resources management, business or related fields. Experience: Eight (8) years of experience in Training/Personnel functions, including 3-5 years in career development related activities with some supervisory experience. Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English. Fluent spoken and written Arabic is necessary for those dealing with in-Kingdom and Gulf training institutions. Strong human relations skills and understanding of Saudi Arab culture. Ability to maintain confidentiality and to tactfully handle sensitive issues. Wide knowledge of all Training & Career Development programs.
COMMENTS: The work required will bring the candidate into contact with various organizations within the company offering exposure and opportunities for direct consultation to management. The candidate will be facilitating meetings in the presence of management. The group is part of a division in which several initiatives are underway to track certifications, identify proper candidates for succession and career planning, develop a new hires competency based development program, and identify the necessary technical capabilities required by the organizations to meet their business objectives.
