Basic Purpose
Member of Geoscience Specialists team. Provides leadership in geochemistry discipline. Responsible for providing analysis and interpretation of petroleum systems and organic and inorganic geochemical data for new ventures, exploration, development and production projects providing input to risk-based decision making and influencing the utilization of new technology and methodologies within geochemistry discipline. Mentors asset and junior Technology staff. Manages relationships and projects with asset teams.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Delivery and documentation of integrated petroleum systems and geochemistry project goals
• Input on source, migration, timing, seal capacity, reservoir quality, and fluid phase/quality/preservation to risk-based decision making, including peer assists/ reviews
• Develop and maintain networks with key peers and colleagues (internally, and externally) to assure that best-in-class technology and workflows are deployed
• Provide direction to and mentoring of other staff within petroleum systems and geochemistry discipline
Input to management on petroleum systems and geochemistry software, technology, capability development strategy, workflows, and best practices

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• With other specialists across Technology, provide integrated solutions to complex problems in area of expertise
• Assist geoscientists in asset teams in the selection of sampling points and appropriate analysis of geochemical data
• Ensure that samples are appropriately stored and archived where necessary
• Work cooperatively with the assets to provide geochemistry as a fully-integrated part of basin, fairway prospect, and field analysis
• Assistance in utilizing other petroleum systems and geochemistry staff resources in the most efficient manner
• Recognize, develop, and communicate innovations in petroleum systems and geochemistry technology across the company
• Participation in Technology research program, industry consortia and application of learnings
• Work with geoscience function leadership to deliver direct training and other learning events
• Participate in peer assists and reviews, and mentor other staff within petroleum systems and geochemistry discipline
Influence development of technical standards, workflows, and best practices
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Masters or PhD (preferred) in Geoscience, or Chemistry
• 15+ years professional experience
• In-depth expertise within petroleum systems, geochemistry, and analytical geochemistry disciplines
• Advanced user in petroleum systems and geochemistry software
• Participation in a range of projects at different life-cycle stages in multiple basins
• Significant experience and excellent understanding of the integration of petroleum system and organic and inorganic geochemical data types and analysis as applied to risking and uncertainty in exploration and compartmentalization/reservoir connectivity in development and production
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, solving problems by use of own experience-set and resources from inside and outside the team
• Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills
• Understanding of E&P business
• Strong communication skills
