Funeral Director

Our client urgently seeks the services of an experienced Funeral Director. This role is based in Port Moresby, PNG. Funeral services and rites vary greatly among cultures and religions and although PNG is diverse, funeral practices usually share some common elements.

The successful candidate will be able to perform the following tasks:

* Arrange the details and handle the logistics of each individual funeral
* Establish the location, dates and times of wakes, memorial services and burials
* Arrange for a hearse to carry the body to the funeral home or mortuary
* Prepare obituary notices and have them placed in newspapers, arrange for pallbearers and clergy
* Decorate and prepare the sites of all services
* Organize preparation and shipment for out-of-country funeral service
* Comfort the family and friends of the deceased

To be successful in this role you will require the following qualifications and skills:

* Extensive management experience of a Funeral Home
* Proficiency in embalming, restorative art - highly regarded
* Proved professional compassionate services to client families before, during and after the loss of a loved one
* Retain heritage and grow market share through active involvement with community, religious, and other organizations
* Adhere to all professional and federal licensing regulations and rules applicable to the funeral service industry
* Be passionate about their work
* Possess a high level of integrity
* Be detail oriented and solution minded
* Possess outstanding organization and time management skills
* Work well independently and as part of a team
* Have superior communication skills
