The Estimating Manager position is a pivotal role working on a large scale, high value rail alliance project in the Sydney metro area. Reporting to the Alliance Commercial Manager the Estimating Manager will effectively be responsible for managing the Estimating function of the project. The alliance consists of a number of leading players in the rail industry who have formed to deliver a series of rail upgrade works to include enhancements in the following areas: track, signalling, OHW, civils and HV distribution systems. For the right person this is an excellent opportunity to be part of this groundbreaking "mega" project.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

The preparation of estimates including the management of resources and following estimating standards
Ensure costs for estimates are based on realistic cost and timing structures
The preparation of benchmarking data
Participating in risk review and evaluate risk and opportunities to ensure risks are mitigated and opportunities maximised
Oversee and manage estimators within the team and ensure high performance in estimating and contract administration functions
Liaise with external consultants
Review all estimates prior to submission
Document and review estimating procedures
Suitable candidates should have a degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or similar and have significant experience in estimating, construction or rail/civil engineering. Experience of using Candy or Expert Estimation software tools would be preferable.
