Trackless Mining Superintendent

KEY RESULT AREAS / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain mobile trackless fleet

• Provide leadership, training and support to ensure that employees and contractors comply with safety standards that exceed industry practice and any applicable legislative requirements

• Create a working environment that ensures employees gain new skills and achieve their full potential by developing and implementing effective training and mentoring programs

• Implement employee performance management processes to ensure optimum employee performance and take appropriate action to remedy any substandard employee performance or behaviour

• To provide leadership to his direct reports and technical support to all Engineering and Maintenance mechanical sections

• To manage contractors as required

• Develop and implement maintenance and construction strategies, budget and plans as required to ensure that services are efficiently provided at optimum cost

• Continually monitor progress of all work and projects assigned to ensure timely, efficient and safe completion of all tasks

• Manage and ensure continual improvement of the Predictive Maintenance Program

• Complete and then maintain the critical spares program

• Manage the Continuous Improvement program for the Maintenance and Engineering Department

• Develop, implement and monitor all maintenance statuary inspections and maintenance strategy standards of the gantry cranes

• Other task as assigned by the Manager of Maintenance and Engineering

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS

Education:

• Mechanical Engineering Degree with a minimum of 5 years practical experience or

• Diploma in an appropriate engineering discipline with a minimum of 10 years practical experience

Experience:

• Extensive experience and familiar with operation of trackless equipment and Maintenance requirements of light, medium and heavy Earth Moving Equipment including a Light Vehicle fleet

• Component rebuilding such as Engines, Transmissions and Hydraulic Systems forms part of the expertise and skills required

• Experience in development and training of a national workforce is required

• Microsoft Office Suite of Products -Word, Project, Excel, Power Point &Access
