Barrick Kanowna has a strong presence in the Eastern-Goldfields of Western Australia centred around the city of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The Kanowna operation processes 2 million tonnes of refractory and free milling ore per annum from three underground mines in the region. It has significant exploration lease holdings and is one of the largest employers in the area.

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Processing Manager, you will provide technical project support and strategic direction for the improvement and optimisation of plant efficiencies and performance within the Kanowna Belle processing plant.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead the Processing Department’s metallurgical team to meet plant performance and optimisation objectives in the Kalgoorlie region.

• Support and provide input into the Budget, Strategic Business Plan, Tactical Planning and other Business Improvement Projects

• Ensure safety and environmental standards are met

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in mineral processing or chemical engineering with a minimum of five years in a metallurgical role in the mining industry

• Excellence in strategic business improvement initiatives

• Superior technical and troubleshooting skills

• A proven track record in leading, motivating and directing project teams

• Demonstrated success with problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills combined with project management experience will make you a strong candidate for this role.

This is a residential position based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

This position offers a competitive mining industry remuneration package in line with qualifications and experience.
