THE ROLE
A major international oil and gas operating company has requested CCL to provide a Night Wellsite Leader to be based in Angola on a 28/28 rotational basis. Daily rate will be internationally competitive and is dependent on the experience and qualifications of the candidate selected. Must be willing to travel as and when required by Client. Single status. Very good accommodation.
THE PERSON
Act as client representative. Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with the Asset business objectives. Provide HSE leadership on location. Exercise due diligence to ensure all personnel understand / comply with all applicable legislation, Drilling, Safety and Environmental Permit requirements, standards and policies. Maintain close and clear communication with Drilling Superintendent. Contribute to development of a Learning Organization. Provide direct supervision and leadership support to the Rig-site Team. Maintain a dialogue with other asset disciplines and support functions. Conversant with all emergency contingency plans. Perform regular safety / maintenance inspections / audits. Develop Night Drilling Supervisor / Drilling Engineers /Trainee Engineers / Materials Coordinators / Safety Coordinators. Prepare / communicate individual training schedule, document accomplishments for evaluation purposes. Initiate & document a PDP. Express and implement new ideas or concepts. Fully compliance with well control, stuck pipe and HSE courses certified. Be the overall Champion for implementation of Technical Limit Process, insuring active participation by all. Optimize logistics for equipment and services to ensure transportation costs are minimized. Implement rigorous methodology / techniques (Technical Limit) to help identify areas for improvement. Prepare adequate handover notes for relief / ensure adequate discussion prior to leave location. Implement incentive plans and make recommendations to reward & recognize outstanding safety performance. Recommend equipment and procedural changes to increase operational efficiency. Ensure BOP / auxiliary equipment properly tested, maintained and operated by rig personnel as per policy.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Ideal candidates will be qualified. Deepwater drilling experience MANDATORY. Ensure that HSE standards are maintained. Has overall responsibility for the rig-site, including Simultaneous Operations. Ensure Rig and specific well operations are performed in accordance with current best practice. Manage development of Rig-site Team strategy to create / promote a culture of open communication, involvement & participation by all. Ensure contractual compliance, clear and traceable records maintained and personnel / equipment related certification is maintained on the Rig. Fluent written and spoken English.
