BMA Broadmeadow Mine is a punch Longwall underground coal mine, located 190km south west of Mackay, and the Whitsunday Coast. Broadmeadow Mine has the capacity to produce over 3 mtpa of high quality coking coal.

At Broadmeadow our core value is to achieve Zero Harm and world class performance which will further enhance BMA’s competitiveness in the international coking coal market.Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, Broadmeadow seeks applicants with proven experience in underground mining to take on the role of Mine Surveyor.

Preferred Experience & Technical Competencies:

• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in Surveying.

• Qld Underground Coal Mine Surveyor’s certificate or the willingness to obtain it.

• Sound knowledge of HSEC and Environmental standards.

• Experience managing a site-wide survey service ranging from resource definition to underground mine geology.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• demonstrate a consistent, visible, and proactive leadership and commitment towards zero harm

• Manage survey and plan requirements to ensure safe and efficient operations.

• Implement and manage the Mine Subsidence Management Plan.

• Be an integral part of the Technical Services Department and provide cross discipline support to other Technical Services Members.

• Monitor operations to ensure compliance with Lease and Mining Approval conditions.

• Develop and manage the electronic drafting system and manage technical drafting support for other personnel.

• Liaise with and validate the survey work of contract surveyors employed at the mine.

• Initiate, develop and review mine planning alternatives to optimise the mining operations.

• Establish a Document Control System to suit ongoing operations and requirements.
