We are expanding every facet of our Iron Ore business as we develop new ways to deliver competitive advantages to our customers. Our most recent growth project, Rapid Growth Project 5, will take installed capacity at our Western Australian Iron Ore operations to 205mpta by the second half of calendar year 2011.
Position Synopsis
Reporting to the Information, Knowledge and Learning Manager, you will be responsible for Iron Ore document and records management governance, support and compliance. This will include developing and maintaining Iron Ore procedures and work instructions; and ensuring they comply with legislation and Group level standards.
In addition, your main accountabilities will include;
* Standardising document and records management practice throughout Iron Ore operations.
* Providing strategic and operational advice, support and training to users on record keeping and records management systems & processes.
* Analysing the document and records management needs of the organisation, and translating these needs into record management systems
* Evaluating and preserving records for legal, administrative, evidential, historical and other purposes.
* Administering and controlling access of confidential information or other information required by legislation and organisation regulations.
* Implementing compliance monitoring and conducting internal audits as required.
* Developing record disposal schedules and provide a destruction service in accordance with BHP Billiton standards.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role you will have a degree or higher qualification in Records Management (or equivalent); at least five years relevant experience in records and archives management, governing records management systems and processes in accordance with national and international compliance standards; and proven experience providing these services in accordance with corporate policies. Highly developed communication and presentation skills are a necessity and experience in the mining industry is preferred.
