Sinopec Group is China's largest producer and supplier of oil products and major petrochemical products. Prior to being acquired by Sinopec, Tanganyika was publicly listed with shares trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange and Depository Receipts trading on the Nordic exchange.
Drilling Supervisor – 28/28 Rotation Position - Syria
Reporting to the Drilling Superintendent, the Drilling Supervisor will act as the Company’s representative on the rig, ensuring that all well-site operations are performed in a safe, environmentally friendly and cost effective manner.
Responsibilities:
�� Manage the day-to-day operations associated with the well, including planning and scheduling, resource allocation, cost control and the clear and concise reporting of all well site activities and events;
�� Ensure full compliance with the Company’s HSE policy standards and objectives;
�� Deliver high quality, cost-effective wells according to the approved well programs and resolve operational problems as they arise;
�� Optimize operational performance without compromising HSE, well integrity or the integrity of the drilling unit;
�� Maintain an accurate inventory at the well-site of all Company and Contractor equipment and consumable materials. Manage the interface with the other Company assets;
�� Evaluate the effectiveness of the drilling and related services contracts. Identify areas for improvement and propose enhancement initiatives;
�� Manage and coach the drilling and service contractor staff during the implementation of new drilling technology;
�� Develop a clear understanding and alignment with all personnel regarding the Company’s policies strategies and specific well objectives.
�� Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
�� International experience is essential.
�� A minimum of ten years drilling experience with five of those years at a Drilling Supervisor level on oil well drilling rigs is mandatory.
�� B. Sc. in Petroleum Engineering is preferred.
�� Strong communication skills in oral and written English.
�� Experienced at drilling through loss circulation zones; horizontal wells; possess current IWCF / IADC well control certificate at Drilling Supervisor level.
�� Experienced at well testing/completion/work-over operations and mud cap and/or under-balanced techniques.
�� Proven track record as a role model and champion of the Company’s values and behavior in the field environment and provide clear HSE leadership and direction with respect to the day-to-day operational activities.
