Lyons Salt Company, a division of BSC Holding, is looking to fill the position of Maintenance Manager at its underground salt mining facility located in Lyons, Kansas. This position will report to the General Manager. The job responsibilities include but are not limited to: plans and performs activities and duties related to equipment maintenance as directed by the General Manager, manage contract maintenance personnel, performs a variety of professional and technical duties in the administration of contracts and procurement of materials, supplies, services and equipment,provides project management for annual scheduled maintenance and plant modifications,schedules and coordinates assigned maintenance in the mining and processing of salt,performs annual testing and analysis for MSHA and quality control standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Mining related field or equivalent experience.
Prefer experience in an underground mine, shaft and hoisting experience a big plus.
Five (5) years or more experience in Maintenance Management / Maintenance Planning
Exceptional problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete multiple tasks.
Parts allocation and procurement experienced required; must be able to recommend spares lists for equipment.
Must have a firm understanding of mobile and fixed mining and milling equipment and components ¡V mechanical and electrical.
Hands on Maintenance / Mechanical / Electrical experience a plus.
Experience with cost management, budgeting, and variance explanation requested.
Preventative and predictive maintenance planning and execution experience required.
Experience with developing and implementing maintenance procedures, processes, and programs
Experience with maintenance planning software required; specific knowledge of MP2 maintenance software a big plus.
Must have exceptional record keeping and follow through skills; including detail accuracy and thoroughness.
Ability to change direction with the organizations needs.
Moderate to excellent skills in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
Essential Physical Functions
Lifting up to 75lbs.
Use of safety equipment is required.
Ability to operate mobile mine and plant equipment.
Mental/physical fatigue from computer use.
Working Conditions
Constant exposure to an industrial environment (noise, dust, moving equipment) and seasonal weather conditions.
