Residential or Fly-in Fly-out - Brisbane/Cairns/Darwin
GEMCO is seeking an experienced Projects and Engineering Superintendent, preferably with experience in the Mining or Mineral Processing industry. Reporting to the Expansion Project Manager, you will be primarily responsible for management of projects in the region of up to AU$5m from concept to completion within time and cost constraints, management of engineering project systems and engineering contracts.
It is likely that the successful candidate will be degree qualified in a business or technical discipline, with experience in Project Management. Your area of expertise will be in establishing the necessary systems, framework and controls to facilitate the planned delivery of projects utilising BHP Billiton and GEMCO processes. You will have experience in management of project budgets including (in conjunction with the Finance team) accurate forecasting and accruing.
Duties are focussed upon sourcing, safe and effective management of contract based engineering services, from conceptual and feasibility studies through to detailed design, construction and commissioning.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
* Mechanical or Electrical Degree qualified, with significant experience in Project Management
* Strong leadership ability, drive and proven success in leading project teams
* Track record of success in implementing change
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from a variety of different backgrounds
* Financial acumen. Cost control and procurement expertise
