The Project Development Group (PDG) is tasked with becoming a Centre of Excellence for the undertaking of studies and delivery of significant and sustaining capital projects within BMA. The Project Development Group provides project delivery services to BMA through the management of all phases of the investment life cycle.
We are currently seeking an experienced OH&S Advisor to support our Sustaining Capital Projects. Reporting to the Area Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for supporting Project Managers, Engineers and Construction Supervisors across the northern region of the Bowen Basin. The Northern region will cover sites located at Goonyella, Broadmeadow, Peak Downs, Poitrel, South Walker Creek and Daunia. You will provide further advice on our BMA Contractor Management System, equipment compliance, incident reporting and investigation, Coal Mining Health & Safety Act and Regulations, along with Building Codes & Regulations.
This position will ensure that key safety learning’s and new safety initiatives are communicated to project and construction personnel in order to focus on high risk areas and minimise repeat incidents. Additionally, you will be Facilitating Risk Assessment workshops, reviewing JSA's, and conducting audits. This role will actively promote a high level of Health and Safety awareness, striving toward our ultimate goal of Zero Harm.
With extensive occupational health and safety project experience, the successful applicant will have worked on multiple mining capital projects, having been involved in the entire process from feasibility through to execution. You will have demonstrated working knowledge of owners’ team safety management, having previously overseen EPCM contractors and third party service providers. Proven experience in developing successful working relationships with site based personnel is required, demonstrating effective management and communication skills.
