Our client has invested in a modern minerals processing plant producing raw material for various industries. The business now requires an experienced General Manager to develop the operation to its full potential. Primary purpose of the role is to bring strong leadership and direction to bear on all facets of the business. This position will suit a senior manager who is able to bring a wealth of experience from similar operations overseas.
Responsibilities:
Provide a firm foundation for the development of the business through effective hands-on management of all operational activities
Implement processes and procedures that meet international standards and obtain significant improvement in operational efficiencies
Recruit, train, manage and monitor a local operations team and challenge performance to improve at every level
Ensure that the infrastructure, equipment and resources employed meet the demands of the business and are adequate to support growth plans
Responsible for all commercial aspects of the business including the development and implementation of a sound Business Plan to steadily improve sales and profitability
Responsible for the entire P&L and all reporting to the Board of Directors
Requirements:
General Manager or Senior Management experience in a minerals processing plant or similar type of industrial installation
Must have both Operational and Commercial experience and have managed a P&L
Proactive approach to improving every aspect of the business and meeting Quality standards
Business development skills, must be able to manage pricing and client negotiations
Expatriate management experience in the Middle East or similar region is preferred
Sufficient financial skills to support the management of budgets & expenditure and to make investment proposals to the Board
Strong leadership qualities, must be able to implement and manage change
