Our client is a well established and progressive International mining group with a portfolio of operations in Western Australia and overseas. The General Manager Operations is a pivotal role that will oversee site open pit mining operations and pit expansion programs at the mine site as well as ongoing project development of the mine. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a progressive track record of leadership success in a hard rock open pit environment. Among the criteria that will define your suitability for this role will be a strong and proactive engagement in quality heath and safety practices, competent environmental stewardship, the ability to plan and implement effective change management initiatives, the ability to deliver business improvement outcomes, strong alliance and team building capability and the ability to guide supplier and technical service functions. As the General Manager, you will be a qualified mining engineer with a statutory responsibility for the site. In this role, you will have an influential interaction with the senior management team and therefore candidates not experienced in contributing to executive management teams are unlikely to have the necessary experience for this role. Experienced and high potential mine managers that meet the requirements are encouraged to apply.
