Think Opportunity
We seek a results-oriented and customer focused leader, with demonstrated strategic sourcing and category management abilities, to join the Olympic Dam Supply team. Reporting to the Manager Supply, your superior leadership skills, strategic acumen and relevant expertise will enable you to successfully lead the Sourcing and Contracts team, and continue developing an efficient and effective group of skilled and motivated people.
Your core accountability will be to provide an appropriate level of governance, management and expertise in strategic sourcing and the development and execution of effective service, capital, materials and goods contracts. This will be accomplished by superior category management, negotiating and implementing commercial contracts and service agreements for the Olympic Dam operation. You will focus on ensuring that all expected outcomes and deadlines are met in accordance with agreed KPIs and service level agreements, and are aligned with Olympic Dam strategic objectives. You will also ensure the highest possible safety standards are maintained.
Working closely with Olympic Dam personnel, suppliers and contractors, BHP Billiton Global Supply, and other Managers, you will ensure end-to-end sourcing and contract management process improvements occur and business opportunities are realised.
Your superior interpersonal skills will be applied to developing productive relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders, forging partnerships that enhance the business and allow constructive liaison on a wide range of issues. Successful application of your efforts will result in improved key stakeholder satisfaction and the identification and development of new opportunities.
Think Requirements
Serious contenders will be tertiary qualified or have equivalent and relevant professional experience. Specialist knowledge in strategic sourcing, contract and category management and related processes, and extensive procurement-related experience is required. Proficient with SAP and the MS Office suite of software, you have a thorough understanding of process improvement methodology.
Exceptionally organised and team-spirited, your track record testifies to your leadership strengths, problem solving capabilities, and proven initiative, enabling your team to meet and exceed its goals.
