Liquor Burner Coordinator

BHP Billiton Worsley Alumina is the joint venture operation of BHP Billiton, Japan Alumina Associates and Sojitz Alumina. As a member of the world’s largest diversified resources company, Worsley manages a bauxite mine and alumina refinery in Western Australia’s South West and offers candidates an enviable choice of lifestyle, based in the state’s picturesque South West.

Reporting to the Production Superintendent, the Area Coordinator role is diverse and challenging. You will directly coordinate day to day operations and maintenance activities for the area, whilst contributing towards longer term continuous improvement activities to lift the Liquor Burner to a new level of performance. This will require interaction with support teams including process engineering, central production control, maintenance and engineering.

This role provides an exceptional opportunity for the right individual. The right attitude is more important than experience - drive, determination, initiative and excellent communication and team work skills are a must. You must also be able to see beyond the day-to-day work and have a real interest in the longer term success of the area. A proven track record coordinating cross functional teams, and knowledge of the Bayer process as well as operational, maintenance and planning systems will be highly regarded.
