Senior Contracts Administrator/Procurement

The Diamonds and Specialty Products Customer Sector Group (CSG) includes our diamond and titanium minerals businesses, as well as our potash projects. Our principal operations are located in Canada and South Africa.

A wonderful opportunity exists for a motivated team-player to become part of our potash group based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Reporting to the Project Services Manager, you will be responsible for the contract and procurement administration of the Canadian potash projects. You will need to ensure effective contract and procurement administration services are provided for the potash projects consistent with the BHP Billiton guiding principles, quality standards and policies.

Key responsibilities include:

- Procurement strategy and procurement plans, procedures and administration;

- Development of Contractor and Vendor Pre-Qualification Documentation and Process;

- Contracts preparation and administration on contracts, services agreements, and purchase orders;

- Draft Vendor agreements;

- Administration of Capital Approval Requests (CAR);

- Monthly accruals and payment certification;

- Preparation of commitment and expenditure reconciliation against contracts;

- Preparation and control of scope changes;

- Preparation of Contract commitment and Forecasting reports; and

- Maintaining the project standards and procedures for all project execution and reporting requirements.

Essential requirements:

- Proven experience in projects, developing the ability to work in a project setting under tight time frames

- Broad mining industry knowledge

- Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications and very proficient in MS Excel

- Exposure and knowledge of project administration controls systems in contracts management and reporting
