Mine Superintendent (Underground Manager)

Position Objective

As the statutory Underground Mine Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient running of our Raleigh Operation to ensure production is on schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Leadership of the mining team, ensuring they have clearly defined accountabilities, roles and individual development plans;
* Develop underground production strategy for achieving the agreed annual targets of the operation and review progress against these plans continually;
* Ensure safety and environmental standards are met and to promote Barrick’s Safety and Health Policy;
* Liase with technical staff and superintendents to provide optimum mine design and schedule in line with Barrick Kanowna's overall plan;
* Daily coordination with Processing Department on plant performance and ore supply, and review of weekly ore processing schedule;
* Review all production budgets, forecasts and reports on a regular basis;
* Supervision of technical professionals.

Requirements

You will be a professional with at least 10 years experience, which must include relevant experience within an underground mechanised metalliferous mine. You will have a proven track record in the management of a safe and efficient underground mining operation, and will be able to communicate effectively to all levels of the operation. A Western Australian First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate is essential.

This is a residential position based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
