Excellent career opportunity for the supply chain professional with demonstrated experience developing strategic purchasing strategies in support of clients in the energy and chemical industries. Examples of materials to be purchased include pipe, valves, gaskets, et al, with the primary sourcing taking place in Central America, China and India. Prior experience purchasing and developing vendor relationships with international suppliers/manufacturers, preferably in China and India, is required. A Bachelor’s degree along with 8+ years experience in procurement/supply chain is also required. Fluency in Spanish is preferred. Base salary of $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 coupled with an excellent total benefits package. Convenient N. W. Houston location. Please review the detailed requirements below.
Position description
Procure supplies for Oil & Gas companies: pipe, valves, gaskets (annual budget USD ~ $10 million)
Develop procurement strategies
Develop vendors
Reports to Trading Business Director
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering or Supply Chain Mgt preferred)
8+ years experience in procurement and supply chain
Must possess in-depth knowledge of materials supplies for Oil & Gas companies
Proven record of developing and implementing procurement savings plan
International procurement experience required (China and India preferred)
Knowledge of ISO and API standards
Experience working with RP systems - SAP
Ability to develop relationships with different organizational levels
Strong commitment to honesty and ethics
Excellent Analytical and Negotiation skills are key.
