PURPOSE
The purpose of the role is to manage the delivery of IT Projects/Programs to Petroleum, ensuring that they are delivered in accordance with Petroleum and BHP Billiton standards, using pre-defined project methodology, templates & tools.
More specifically, this will include the planning and execution of projects which consistently meet expectations for predictability of project schedule, cost, quality, scope & safety. The role will deliver IT projects across IT functions, commencing with key applications support and infrastructure projects (e.g. Records Management and Group Level Document compliance).

• Conduct periodic reviews of project status and communicate same to all stakeholders regularly
• Negotiate vendor proposals and monitor, manage, and communicate budget and performance metrics through the project process.
• Facilitate identification, planning, and execution of associated Organizational Change Management and Communications
• Ensure learning’s from projects are communicated to future projects to ensure continuous improvement of PM and PMO processes
• Work closely with the Petroleum IT PMO to achieve quality assurance of delivery objectives

• Develop documentation, manage processes and deploy tools in order to meet project KPI’s
• Ensure all project control points are satisfactorily executed
• Complete weekly status updates and communicating status of project including schedule, cost, risks, issues and changes

• Ensure that projects are delivered in a way that adds value to Petroleum through the delivery of consistent, highly successful projects

• Projects are delivered which meet or exceed project KPI’s for schedule, cost, quality, scope & safety

Knowledge
* Minimum: Formal Qualifications Project Management
* Ideal: Petroleum Information Technology Systems
Experience (Including Qualifications)
• Minimum: 5+ project management experience at senior level, proven success in project delivery which can be demonstrated
• Ideal: Proven success in major project and portfolio delivery, management of vendors, experience in management of multiple Petroleum IT projects
• Resources sector experience
