Our most recent growth project, Rapid Growth Project 5, will take installed capacity at our Western Australian Iron Ore operations to 205mpta by the second half of calendar year 2011.
Position Synopsis
We require a safety conscious self-starter, with excellent team building skills, to support our Track Engineering Department and oversee rail grinding activities along with the day-to-day running of planned operation / maintenance activities. Your leadership will support the Track Engineering Department in meeting work schedules and productivity targets, thereby optimising track availability and reliability.
Actively contributing to continuous improvement, your key duties will include:
* Supervising the administration and performance of day workers responsible for completing work in progress;
* Ensuring that standards are adhered to and work is undertaken in a safe and efficient manner;
* Providing financial and operational information to supervision;
* Attending regular programming meetings;
* Coordinating maintenance planning; and
* Overseeing monthly and annual expenditure relating to grinding and contract equipment under their control.
Skills and Experience
To be considered, you must have completed secondary education and be computer literate. In addition have a sound knowledge of track maintenance techniques and materials used on CWR rail. Your career history testifies to your problem solving strengths and sound judgement, crucial to assessing the potential impact on track availability of any issues you may encounter. Previous experience with Rail Grinding will be highly regarded.
As an active team player you will volunteer your ideas and share your technical knowledge, offering advice and support to fellow workers and supervision.
Planning, organisational and people management skills will be essential in performing this role. ‘C’ class driver’s licence is essential.
Location
This role is based in Port Hedland and is offered on a Fly In Fly out basis from Perth on a family friendly roster. A competitive remuneration package is offered commensurate with experience, and includes performance incentive and a generous superannuation scheme, as well as other benefits.
