1- Install and configure the license management software (FLEXMAN)
2- Install the PDMS software (new versions at least annually)
3- Install complimentary applications to facilitate PDMS (SNAGIT, PRINTKEY, VI Editors)
4- Create/Maintain the file containing environment variables required to access PDMS projects (PROJECT.BAT)
5- Configure workstations as clients to run PDMS (environment variables, network access)
6- Develop the admin structure (users, teams, databases, and MDBs) to be used by the various disciplines
7- Create PDMS project from scratch and install the admin structure to serve as the template database
8- Include the AVEVA basic catalog and reference databases from the AVEVA master project.
9- Establish and create the user-defined attributes (UDAs) to be used by the Houston office.
10- Establish and create the Windows folder structure and naming convention for PDMS projects
11- Complete a database integrity check to make sure there are no corrupt data in the project.
12- Replicate the template project to create project specific databases as required
13- Change the project information in ADMIN to reflect the project name, description, and number
14- Work with the discipline leads to establish a hierarchy structure and naming convention for each project
15- Convert project to use GLOBAL, distribute the files to the remote sites, set up the GLOBAL process program, initialize the GLOBAL project
16- Establish the back-up procedure, set up the windows task manager to create the back-ups, copy backups to DVD (Monthly)
17- Establish the archive procedure, copy completed projects to DVD
18- Monitor the project daily and expunge ghost users and claims lists.
19- Execute a database integrity check at least weekly – reconfigure databases that are corrupt (rare event)
20- Check for inter-db connection macros and execute them or resolve any issues that arise
21- Create and maintain the DRAFT rules, styles, and symbols.
22- Convert ACAD borders to DRAFT “BACKING” sheets for drawing creation.
23- Create and maintain the structural catalog and specs
24- Conduct training on all features of PDMS (modeling equipment, steel, pipe, and tray, and how to operate DRAFT)
25- Assist users with problems associated with the application, macros, synonyms, and model components. (must be knowledgeable of all PDMS features)
26- Contact AVEVA support to resolve serious problems
27- Establish and maintain a library of “standard” components.
28- Create and maintain MTO and weight/CG applications using the PDMS forms and menu features.
29- Be able to create user utility applications using synonyms, macros and the forms and menu system
30- Be able to modify the AVEVA forms and menus to better accommodate our work processes.
31- Create and maintain PDMS report templates to extract information from the project.
32- Import model data from other PDMS projects and from Microstation files (IMPLANT and OPENSTEEL)
33- Export PDMS model to other systems (DATAL and EXPLANT)
34- Export the PDMS model to REVIEW.
35- Use REVIEW to conduct design reviews
36- Use REVIEW to create posters and movies – requires the ability to use a movie creation application such as ADOBE or COMBUSTION.
37- Create PDMS model components for “special” projects (ring spar, FPSO concepts, trussed ETLP)
38- Provide information to management on capabilities, limitations and feasibility
