Position Overview

To coordinate variety of Business Improvement functions by engaging employees to guide, encourage and actively support site management and improvement teams in their quest to meet Business strategic needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Consistently demonstrate behaviour and commitment to Safety and Environment

·         Develop working relationships, build acceptance to foster and support commitment to value added projects and risk mitigation

·         Prioritise and track value add Business Improvement Projects

·         Develop and apply Business Improvement tools and systems and provide support for project teams to resolve issues.

·         Develop core values behaviour from engagement of employees using promotion and delivery of the site’s suggestion scheme

·         Actively participate in develop of CI culture via employee engagement using promotion and application of the BI tool kit (problem solving and lean techniques) on key site initiatives

Experience and Requirements

·         2-3 years experience in continuous improvement processes or alternatively; sufficient operational or technical background within the mining industry 

·         Self directed and self motivated

·         Demonstrated ability to lead change through personal example and influence

·         Strengths in communication and building of acceptance with line management and support teams across Barrick

·         General appreciation for critical success factors and process management required for project implementation

·         Proven facilitations skills

·         Well developed analytical, interpretative and constructive thinking skills

·         Strong interpretation and root cause analysis skills

·         Working knowledge of MS Office suite of packages

This is a residential role based in Kalgoorlie, WA.
