Structural Designer - Structural/Microstation/Industrial 50-50 $/hr

Location: Pasadena, CA, USA
Opening in the Pasadena, CA area for a Structural Designer to develop difficult and complex working drawings from equipment specifications, engineering notes, sketches, calculations and/or detailed drawings for industrial-type projects andplant design. Local candidates only. US Citizenship is required to be considered.

Responsibilities:

-> Utilizes CAD to prepare engineering drawings consisting of standard arrangements, and layouts, from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information
-> Work closely with other Designer/ Drafters and Engineers to ensure a coordinated design
-> Work in 2D and 3D CAD environments and reads and understand orthographic 2-D drawings, 3-D designs, and supplier/manufacturer's drawings
-> Make required changes, additions, and /or revisions, as directed by immediate supervisor.

Requirements:

-> 2-year technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent)
-> Must have recent industrial-type projects andplant design experience
-> 6 or more years of relevant experience
-> Proficient in the use of MicroStation &FrameWorks Plus
-> PC literacy, proficiency in utilizing CAD and other computer software to complete design assignments

Benefits:

-> Will work a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off
-> OT paid for hours worked over 9 in a day, at 1.5 x direct labor rate

• What is your level or proficiency with Microstation and FrameWorks Plus? How recent is your experience with each and what version(s) are you proficient using?

• Detail experience demonstrating you can work from equipment specifications, engineering notes, sketches, calculations and-or detailed drawings for industrial-type projects andplant design to create difficult and complex working structural drawings.

• Where do you currently live and how close are you to the Pasadena, CA area?

• What is your current or most recent hourly rate of pay and are you willing to work this position for the rate listed?
