RecruitR is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mining Engineer to join a fantastic team of professionals in Queensland. Our client is a reputable employer that operates multiple open pits and underground mines in a range of commodities. Due to continued growth, expansion and internal promotion there is a rare opportunity to become part of their story.
As the Senior Mining Engineer - Long Term Planning you will be reporting to the Technical Services Manager and will form an integral part of the tech services team. You will be responsible for developing long term plans and schedules for the operation; ensuring maximum recovery of the ore in the safest and most efficient manner possible. In addition to the technical responsibilities that go along with this position you will also be coaching and mentoring junior engineers. Other duties will include but will not be limited to:
Mine design
Reserve estimation
Communicating mine plans effectively to production personnel
Assisting with cost modeling & budgeting
Liaising with short term mine planning engineers
This role demands a dedicated mining professional; specific requirements for this position include:
Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering
A minimum of 5 years in an open cut mining environment (7+ years is preferred)
Exceptional skills in mine planning & scheduling; experience in long term planning is essential and short term planning experience is preferred
Experience with mine planning software; preferably Vulcan
JORC compliant Competent Person for Reserve Estimation
The successful applicant will also take ownership of this role and will be committed to the playing a major part in the success of this operation.
A remuneration package will be negotiated during the interview process and will reflect the level of experience & competency of the applicant. The cash component & the total package will be highly competitive!
