Site Manager - Waste/management/hazardous 68-80 K/yr

Location: West Richland, WA, USA
Waste Specialist managing office and field work of hazardous waste acceptance and disposal services at a North West Nuclear remediation site.

Responsibilities:

-> Supporting waste acceptance and disposal services as part of Waste Support Services
-> Management of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976 (RCRA) and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) waste
-> Supporting the production and shipment of radioactive low level and radioactive mixed waste to the Environmental Restoration and Disposal Facility (ERDF) and/or other treatment, storage and disposal facilities (TSDs) as specified
-> Perform weekly surveillance and inspection of field waste sites
-> Managing waste cradle-to-grave. Includes providing waste management direction/guidance to field personnel, developing waste packaging labeling instructions, inputting/updating waste containers in the Solid Waste Inventory Tracking System (SWITS), spill response, etc
-> Interfacing with appropriate Project personnel in pre-job planning activities, plan-of-the days and provide guidance on the appropriate waste generation, packaging, and management of specified waste streams
-> Reviewing various Project documents (data quality objectives (DQOs), sampling and analysis plans (SAPs) etc.) and provide comments as requested

Requirements:

-> Previous waste management experience
-> Previous experience with Washington State and Federal environmental regulations (WAC, RCRA, CERCLA, and TSCA)
-> Familiar with waste operations activities/terminology
-> Radiological worker and hazardous waste qualified or ability to obtain, and maintain qualifications
-> Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
-> Familiar with computer applications (SWITS, Integrated Document Management System (IDMS), Access)
-> BA/BS degree in a technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
