Our client, a leading international design consultancy with offices throughout Australia and the world currently have a great opportunity available for a Principal Civil – Railway Engineer to join their rail team on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will have a chance to work with a team of professional railway, signal, bridge, geotechnical and structural engineers and will be responsible for managing the civil/ structural work associated with rail projects including strategic planning of rail projects, technical due diligence, feasibility studies, EIS support, detailed design, design and project management, preparation of tender and construction documentation, asset management and maintenance and rail operations and safety.

To be considered, you will need to possess extensive experience working on railway structures with proven technical experience in stations and building structures. You must be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, who is able to work with and support staff of all levels. A proven background in delivering work for Railcorp would be advantageous as is the ability to design manage and to run projects to their completion.

To be successful in this role, candidates will need to possess a degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering, a minimum of 10 years industry experience having previous management experience within a design consultancy. You must have strong design managements, technical and client liaison skills and a proven track record delivering civil and structural work in the rail industry.
