Environmental Health Safety Engineer - Manage/Operations/Reports

Location: Brooklyn, NY, USA
A well respected client has an immediate need for an Environmental, Health, Safety Manager for its facility located in New York. Client strongly prefers a local candidate but will negotiate a relocation if needed.

Responsibilities:

-> Provide guidance and direction all environmental projects in air, water, and wastewater
-> Work with management and unions to ensure all EHS rules and regulations are met
-> Use software applications to write technical reports and produce spreadsheets to document EHS programs
-> Present reports and compliance documents to regulatory agencies to ensure client meets all safety rules and regulations

Requirements:

-> BS degree
-> CSP/CIH certification is a plus
-> Must have outstanding leadership, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
-> Must have experience effectively working with union employees, management staff, and government agencies
-> Must be well organized to ensure that all deadlines are met
-> Must have a minimum of six years experience dealing with federal safety and environmental laws related to heavy industrial or power plant operation
-> New York State safety rules and regulation experience is strongly preferred
