THE ROLE
CCL has been requested by a multinational group of companies providing specialist services to the oil and gas industries to recruit a Contracts Engineer. The Group is an equal opportunity employer and offers excellent benefits. Position may require overseas travel and / or offshore assignment. Salary commensurate with education and experience. This vacancy is being handled by our Houston office.
THE PERSON
Approximately 15 years experience executing contract negotiations / claims in oil & gas industry, working on major projects as a member of a Project Team in an international company environment, collaborating with the financial reporting, contracts administration and legal departments. Develop subcontract inquiry packages, contractual documents for subcontractors and bidders short list. Review contract documents with successful bidder and prepare documents for final signature and with project groups to ensure comprehensive inclusion of relevant aspects. Provide direction to relevant disciplines as to documentation requirements. Ensure subcontracts terms / PO terms comply with client contract documents, bid packages are complete. Issue bid packages. Generate bid response comparison tables and bid analysis. Coordinate clarification meetings with bidders. Compile recommendations to project management. Subject to award, develop definitive contract documents. Maintain variation order system and coordinate the integration of changes into the project budget.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Minimum Bachelors Degree in Construction or Engineering Discipline. Prefer CIOB or RICS certification in Dispute Resolution or Quantity Surveying & Construction. Intermediate-Advanced Microsoft Office experience. Solid negotiation skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Fluent written and spoken English. Must be eligible to reside and work in the USA.
