Mine Geologist

Our client is a respected coal mining company committed to delivering sustainable growth and premium products whilst minimizing environmental impact. They have over 20 years of coal mining experience in Indonesia, producing coal of various quality from their operations in Kalimantan.
Our client currently seeks to appoint a Mine Geologist to their Kalimantan operation. Key responsibilities of the Mine Geologist will include:

* Provision of short to medium term technical advice to optimize the value of all existing and proposed production areas
* Effective management of the geological database
* Participate in identifying improvement opportunities
* Mentor, coach and motivate team members to enable them to develop within their role
* Assist with geological modeling, analysis and reporting
* Participate in the optimisation of the long term mine plans.

The successful applicant will have:

* Tertiary qualifications in Geology and a minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in open pit coal mining.
* Production background in large scale open pit coal mines
* An excellent working knowledge of Mincom and Minex software
* Previous experience in Geological modeling
* Previous experience working in Indonesia will be well regarded.

A generous remuneration package, commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills and experience. The package will cover all living expenses.
