Electrical Technician - Stanwell Coal Fire Power Station

Stanwell Corporation Limited is a Queensland Government owned corporation with an energy portfolio comprising coal and hydro power generation facilities throughout Queensland. Currently Stanwell provides more than 30% of the State's electricity requirements.

If you are an Electrical Technician with experience in power generation or heavy industry maintenance this could be your opportunity for employment in a supportive workplace. This role will provide technical input, expertise and knowldege in the operation and maintenance of the coal fired power plant. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor the role involves routine maintenance, general contingency management and planning of work tasks to contribute towards the achievement of business objectives.

The position is based at Stanwell Coal Fired Power Station located 22km west of Rockhampton in Central Queensland, in close proximity to the Capricorn Coast and offers modern facilities, quality schools and university access.

Role responsibilities will include:

* Higher level technical work – modifications, fault finding, investigations
* Monitoring plant and proposing improvements
* Attending planning meetings and assist in planning and prioritising work
* Project managing minor plant modifications

Qualifications and experience:

* A trade qualification as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic
* An Associate / Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or recognised equivalent)
* A current manual driver's license
* A minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar role, preferably in a power or heavy industry environment
* A flexible attitude, with strong communication and computer skills
