Mt Arthur Coal Expansion - Shot Firers

Situated near Muswellbrook in the picturesque Upper Hunter Valley, the Mt Arthur Coal mine is an open cut thermal coal operation that is currently expanding to produce 20 million tonnes annually.

We are currently seeking experienced shotfirers to join our blast crew whose role is to provide fragmented material through the safe and efficient use, handling, transport and storage of explosives.

Successful applicants will need to demonstrate the following attributes:

* have a genuine commitment to safety and our goal of zero harm
* a willingness to work in a team environment
* work in an environmentally responsible manner
* be prepared to work towards mutual goals to improve productivity and efficiency
* be self motivated and be able to competently make decisions based on experience and training
* be fully fit and be able to pass a medical
* be able to demonstrate reasonable numeracy and literacy skills

You will need to demonstrate knowledge in the following areas:

* Safe Work Procedures
* CMRA, Regulations and Australian Standards
* Environmental requirements and constraints
* Blast calculations
* Explosive products

Successful applicants may be required to work shiftwork on various rosters and may be deployed to other functions in accordance with the Mount Arthur Coal Workplace Agreement, 2008.
