As a Senior Mining Engineer, you will report to the Technical Services Superintendent and have a lead role in effective planning and continuous improvement of the mining sequence to maximise resource utilisation and production through safe, effective and efficient mining methods
Opportunities will exist for future rotation into other planning/operations roles within the Department.
Responsibilities will include:
• A commitment to safe working practices including the adherence to system compliance with all safety procedures, safe work instructions, SOPs, Coal Mining Act and Regulations and conducting reviews to monitor compliance.
• Provide support and mentoring to engineering team members through constructive guidance and assistance in relation to engineering principles and practices.
• Responsible for developing and implementing either self-initiated or directed project work in order to achieve the mine site objectives.
Qualifications / Experience
* Degree in Mining Engineering or associated field
* Five years experience working with Draglines/ Dragline Planning
* A demonstrated high order of interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with production oriented field personnel
* Strong commitment to safety and familiarity with continuous Improvement procedures
