Our most recent growth project, Rapid Growth Project 5, will take installed capacity at our Western Australian Iron Ore operations to 205mpta by the second half of calendar year 2011

Position Synopsis

An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly motivated professional to join the team at the Yandi Mining Operation as a Senior Mine Scheduler. We seek a safety conscious and motivated individual to join our Mining team and lead the integration of the mine’s production with the logistics’ system to port. You will play an integral role in a team of dedicated professionals. Your primary responsibilities will include:

* Daily production scheduling and quality control;
* Daily pit inspections to ensure safe and efficient mining operations;
* Quality monitoring and reviews of ore shipments;
* Blending mine production sources to achieve optimum quality outputs;
* Liaising with port and rail for daily and weekly rail scheduling; and
* Liaising with the mining contractor for implementation of mine plans.

In this role you will assist the Superintendent with the daily management of the operation through your knowledge of daily product quality control and safe operating practices in large open-cut mines.

Skills and Experience

Your ability to communicate confidently at all levels and establish a good rapport with a diverse range of people is essential. Prior experience in mine planning or scheduling or hands-on operating experience is desirable, as well as computer literacy and the ability to use the Microsoft Office packages. Experience with grade control systems would be desirable but is not essential for this position.

The successful applicant will work on a 9/5 FIFO roster from Perth and will be offered an attractive salary package, including an incentive bonus, generous superannuation and long-service provisions. Fights are direct to site and are eligible for frequent flyer points. Yandi Village Camp is a modern camp with modern facilities and a continual focus of creating a home away from home lifestyle.
