POSITION DESCRIPTION
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and control department personnel to ensure the safe and efficient achievement of marine and logistics activities.
Ensure the Permit to Work (PTW) system is controlled and adhered to.
Principle Functions of the Position:
Advise the OIM on all marine related activities.
Manage and direct the work of marine personnel;
Deck operations during mooring operations, loading and unloading of supply vessels;
Connection and disconnection of shuttle tankers;
Cargo and ballasting operations.
Ensure that all marine related operations are executed within the parameters established by regulatory authorities, Company Marine Operations Manual, including procedures for connection and disconnection of CALM buoy and production fluids connector.
Safety Critical Functions
Provide the OIM with advice and information in an emergency and assist in the coordination of emergency response.
Act as Incident Controller in accordance with the Emergency Response Organization and Plans.
Responsibility for marine safety systems and safety.
Take Command and lead the on board Emergency Response Organization in the event that the OIM is incapacitated during an emergency.
Experience Factors
Minimum 10 years relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory / management position.
Previous experience as a Marine Superintendent or equivalent.
Previous FPSO experience.
COMPETENCE CRITERIA
Academic Achievements / Certifications
Technical Training to at least HND level
Degree or equivalent in Engineering / Science
Class 1 / Master Mariner’s certificate of competency (or equivalent)
COMPETENCE CRITERIA
Demonstrated Knowledge / SkillsMEP
Understanding of relevant requirements of Country offshore H&S and Environmental legislation, official guidance and industry guidance, including:
Hazard Communication, Ionizing Radiation Regs;
Legislation governing Waste Management and Pollution Prevention
Understanding of the role of HSE Offshore Safety Division, Environmental Agency in administering and monitoring compliance with legislation, including routine reporting, incident reporting.
Knowledge of the FPSO Emergency Response Organization and Plans, Evacuation and Rescue methods, including helicopter and standby vessel operations; alerting and SAR routines.
