The Head of Engineering will join an established structure heading a department and reporting to the GM. They have four palm oil mills, with a fifth mill being built for commissioning before the end of 2010. The agribusiness also operates a kernel crushing plant, a power station, a refinery and fractionation plant and a bulking terminal at the port. The department also has a strong project component responsible for new technologies, expansions, capital engineering and civil works.

The successful applicant will liaise with top company management on a daily basis, working to co-ordinate operational targets. Therefore excellent people skills, respect and a sense of diplomacy are essential for the position. This is a challenging role and the successful candidate must have drive, planning & organisational ability, strong skills in team management & staff motivation and above all a sense of humour.

The successful applicants will have the following attributes:

* A degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering with knowledge of steam
* Experience in palm oil mill operation as well as experience with refining, fractionation, management of a bulk terminal and arrangement of shipping logistics
* Knowledge of palm oil mill design & construction is required, coupled with strong computer skills, particularly with Autocad, Word & Excel
* A need to accurately compile and adhere to budgets is essential
* Knowledge of kernel crushing would be a distinct advantage as would experience of power plant management and methane capture technologies.
