Ngaanyatjarra Council Ngaanyatjarra Council (Aboriginal Corporation) represents the interests of 2000 indigenous traditional owners living in 12 remote Indigenous Communities in Ngaanyatjarra Lands of Western Australia. FIELD ANTHROPOLOGIST Ngaanyatjarra Council is currently seeking a male field Anthropologist to work with male traditional owners to provide high quality, practical and timely advice to on heritage and land access issues. The position is based in Alice Springs with extended periods of field work. The successful candidate will manage funded cultural heritage projects, working very closely with traditional indigenous men. They will provide assistance in agreement making in relation to mining exploration, and other land access issues. An opportunity exists for an interested person to develop a rewarding long term anthropological engagement with Ngaanyatjarra people. This role will work closely with our experienced legal team and other land and culture program staff, under the guidance of council's principle anthropologist. Salary will be negotiable commensurate on qualifications and previous experience. Assistance with relocation is also provided. Entry level applicants will be considered; on the job training may be an option for the suitable applicant. The remuneration package has District Allowance, a single annual flight, a total of 5 weeks leave per annum and access to Salary Packaging arrangements.
